Good bye and thank you!
While the Appoquinimink River Association is dissolving after 9 years, we're proud of all we've been able to accomplish. We couldn't have done it without all the support of our members, friends and partners! Thank you for your participation and passion! (For information on our last meeting and dissolution vote, read the minutes.)
We may be moving on, but we're leaving you in good hands and using our remaining funds to maintain our legacy for years to come!
The Delaware Nature Society and Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) have enjoyed a long history of partnering with the ARA and each other. The Delaware Nature Society is a state-wide organization which fosters understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the natural world through education; preserves ecologically significant areas; and advocates for stewardship and conservation of natural resources. They hope to expand their education and outreach efforts into the MOT area to help fulfill any environmental needs. DNREC, our state environmental agency, will continue to work with our partners to maintain and implement projects such as rain gardens, stream restorations, watershed plans and best management practices with the remaining funds raised over the years, continuing to fulfill ARA's mission and goals. Both organizations are eager to work with local communities like Middletown, Odessa, and Townsend and welcome any requests or questions!
